Ex-President Ahmadinejad killed in Iran missile strike: media reports


Iranian state media has reported the death of former President and current member of the Expediency Discernment Council, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The former leader was reportedly killed during a missile strike that targeted the capital, Tehran, late on Saturday.

In a brief dispatch, official Iranian agencies confirmed that Ahmadinejad was killed alongside several of his companions.
While a detailed official report has yet to be released, media outlets close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed that three of Ahmadinejad’s security detail also died in the attack, which Tehran attributes to a joint US-Israeli operation.
