Feels Like Home — Sadat Anaku on Return to KCCA

Sadat Anaku has expressed his delight at returning to KCCA FC, the club where he began his football journey.

Having signed a deal until the end of the 2024–25 season, Anaku re-joins as a free agent after a stint with Scottish side Dundee United.

“It feels like home,” Anaku said, reflecting on his return to the club that nurtured his talent.

The forward first joined KCCA FC in 2016 as a student at Kibuli Secondary School, one of the club’s partner institutions, and rose through the ranks in the junior team.

He quickly established himself as a standout player, becoming the all-time top scorer of the FUFA Juniors League with an astounding 83 goals in 52 games.

Returning to familiar surroundings, Anaku was quick to express his joy: “I love the fact that when I came back here, I found several familiar faces in the dressing room, and this place simply feels like home.”

His journey with KCCA FC saw him promoted to the senior team in 2019, where he went on to score 22 goals in 67 appearances, adding to his tally of 105 goals across both the junior and senior teams.

The 23-year-old striker left KCCA FC in 2022 for a historic move to Dundee United, becoming the first player from the club to sign for a Scottish team.

However, his love for KCCA FC never wavered. “I am thankful to the club board, management, and Head Coach for having granted me this opportunity to return to KCCA FC, and I cannot wait to get started again,” Anaku shared.

Anaku’s return boosts KCCA FC’s attacking options as he will compete alongside fellow forwards Derrick Nsibambi, Abubaker Mayanja, and Emmanuel Anyama.

With the new season fast approaching, Anaku is eager to contribute: “I am eager to compete with my mates to help the club achieve its objectives.”
