FF+ tables urgent motion to probe Tshwane CFO after Madlanga revelation

The Freedom Front Plus (FF+) in the City of Tshwane has submitted an urgent motion to investigate Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Gareth Mnisi and possible political interference in a multimillion-rand security tender.
This follows evidence presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, revealing WhatsApp messages between Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, Mnisi and the Tshwane Metro Deputy Police Chief Umashi Dlamini with lists of preferred companies allegedly linked to the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Action SA.
City of Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya has already placed Action SA councillor and Corporate and Shared Services MMC Kholofelo Morodi on special leave with immediate effect, following allegations of corrupt activity
FF+ Caucus leader and MMC for Community Safety in Tshwane Grandi Theunissen says, “The Freedom Front Plus regards the step as very necessary in uncovering irregularities under Morodi’s leadership.”
“There’s a clear history of poor judgment by Morodi. The public was previously, already shocked by a proposal to sell the historic city hall to the Iranian embassy. It’s also ironic that she previously voiced sharp criticism regarding the handling of security services under the VF Plus control, yet her own portfolio now stands at the centre of serious allegations concerning tender irregularities.”
