Five killed in head-on collision on R42 near Heidelberg

Five people have died in a head-on collision on the R42, west of Heidelberg in Gauteng.
According to the Road Traffic Management Corporation, a VW Polo carrying three men and a Land Rover Freelander transporting two men were involved in the crash early hours of Sunday morning.
It is alleged that the VW Polo crossed into the lane of the oncoming Freelander, causing the vehicles to collide head-on.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
