Five suspects to appear court for Limpopo insurance related killings

Five suspects, including a school principal, two siblings, their cousin and a traditional healer, arrested in connection with the insurance-related killings, will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Wednesday morning.
The suspects were arrested in Polokwane and Moletjie.
Police say the suspects are linked to the alleged insurance killings involving the former police sergeant, Rachel Kutumela.
The latest arrests bring the total number of suspects linked to the alleged syndicate to 10.
Kutumela, her daughter, sister and brother were arrested between 2024 and 2025 after allegedly benefiting from more than R10 million in fraudulent insurance payouts.
The suspects are believed to be part of a syndicate that took insurance policies for victims, killed them and claimed insurance payouts.
The syndicate allegedly led by Kutumela and her co-accused has masterminded a series of crimes in which insurance policies were taken out in the names of vulnerable individuals who were later killed.
The latest suspects are expected to join Kutumela and the other accused in court, where they will face several charges, including counts of murder.
