Football Fever Grips as StarTimes UPL Returns

Football excitement is sweeping across Uganda as fans prepare for the much-anticipated return of top-tier football in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL).

The season will kick off with a thrilling match between two football giants, KCCA FC and URA FC, at Lugogo.

Fans will be treated to an electrifying opening game under the lights, with kick-off set for 7:00 PM.

All the live action will be broadcast on Sanyuka Prime and StarTimes ON, a mobile app that streams live TV.

The league will feature regional teams like Mbale Heroes and Lugazi FC, alongside established names such as Bunyoro Kingdom’s Kitara FC.

“As part of StarTimes’ ongoing commitment to bringing Ugandan football to a wider audience and promoting local productions, the league’s matches will be broadcast live on Sanyuka Prime and FUFA TV,” said Isma Lule, Marketing Director at StarTimes.

He added that fans can enjoy live matches on smartphones via the StarTimes ON app and even in areas with limited electricity, thanks to StarTimes Solar’s package that includes sports content.

SC Villa are the defending champions after ending their 20-year wait last year, and will face stiff competition from Vipers, KCCA, BUL and Kitara.
