Four people have died in a blaze in Delft on the Cape Flats.
Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services says they were called out to the scene where several structures were alight in the early hours of Friday morning.
Spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, says the cause of the fire is unknown, and the South African Police Service is investigating.
“Three structures comprising a fruit and vegetable stall, a gym and a gas cylinder outlet were damaged. Approximately 24 cylinders were removed and placed on the pavement away from the hot zone. Sadly, the bodies of four adult males were found with fatal burn wounds inside the makeshift gym.
The South African Police Service will investigate the cause of this incident.”
