The NRM vice chairperson for western region Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki has called on all NRM party structures to rally behind flag bearers and desist from supporting independents since it’s against the NRM Constitution .
Hon Jonard made the call today while speaking to Mitooma district NRM leaders at the launch of NRM task force that will be there to look for votes of president Museveni and all flag bearers ,a function that was held at Kigarama catholic parish in Bitereko subcounty Mitooma district .
He noted that independent candidates go to parliament not to help in development of the party but for their own benefit.
Speaking on the same function, the 11th Parliament deputy speaker RT Hon Thomas Tayebwa noted that he is ready to move to grass root to solicit votes for all flag bearer inorder to protect NRM normsciting that in primaries he supported the incumbent Woman Member Of Parliament juliet Agasha Bashisha but he will not join the NRM Flag bearer kyarampe Rabeeca.
Moses Tumwekwatse the Mitooma district NRM chairperson noted the reason for this function was to launch the NRM district task force that will traverse the entire district looking for election for votes for president Museveni and all flag bearers in Mitooma District and all structures have vowed to support the cause .
Speaking to our reporter after this function that they attended in person , the two independents , Hon Capt Kahonda the Ruhinda South Legislator and Agasha Juliet Bashisha the Mitooma district woman member of parliament all noted that these top leaders are trying to deny voters a right to get the leader of their choice yet they are not addressing the irregularities in the NRM primaries.{“capture_mode”:”AutoModule”,”faces”:[]}
