I&M Bank Uganda has fulfilled its promise of a Shs20 million donation to support the caddies and course maintenance staff of Entebbe Club.

The donation, announced during the second edition of the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series in June, aims to help school-going caddies and the children of the course caretakers, many of whom are women.

During the third edition of the series on September 28, Katogo Captain Elly Mukasa confirmed the funds had been received by Entebbe Club, expressing gratitude to I&M Bank for honoring their pledge.

I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to impactful community partnerships, emphasizing the importance of supporting education and welfare in the community.

“As promised in June, we have honored our Shs20 million pledge. We value our relationship with Katogo, which goes beyond golf to create positive change in the community,” said Bairstow.

In addition to the caddies’ support, I&M Bank continues to engage in other CSR initiatives, including a recent Shs20 million donation to Nkozi Hospital’s accident and emergency center and providing 16 full computer sets to Masheruka Girls Secondary School in Sheema.

Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, Annette Nakiyaga, noted that these efforts are central to the bank’s identity, with a focus on education, health, and community improvement.

Meanwhile, over 180 golfers braved the rain at the Entebbe Golf Course to compete in the Russian Chicago Stableford format, though the downpour shortened the competition to the front nine. In the end, Callaway Girls, composed of Dinah Ongol and Gloria Ihunde, triumphed in the ladies’ category, while Catapult’s Denis Tela and Arthur Arinaitwe took the men’s title.

The event, filled with fun and entertainment, ended with music from DJs Global, Mark R, and Selekta Herbo, as some golfers even took turns DJing to the crowd’s excitement.

The grand finale of the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is scheduled for December 7, under the ‘Double Bogey Danger’ format. The series is co-sponsored by Victoria Motors, Johnnie Walker, GA Insurance, Fenon Events, Goldman Furniture, and NBS Sport.
