Joseph Tamale Mirundi Remembered by Evangelical Orthodox Church Uganda for Courage and Advocacy
The Evangelical Orthodox Church Uganda (EOC) has shared its profound grief following the death of Joseph Tamale Mirundi, a prominent figure in Uganda’s political and media landscape.
Mirundi, who was also the former press secretary to the president and President of the Uganda Journalists Association (UJA), died on Tuesday evening at the age of 60.
In a statement, Most Reverend Jacinto Kibuuka, the Presiding Bishop of EOC Uganda, reflected on Mirundi’s impactful role as a defender of truth and supporter of the church.
“Mirundi’s visits to the Mamre Prayer Centre and his steadfast support during challenging times demonstrated his commitment to both our church and the greater good,” Kibuuka said.
The EOC offered their deepest condolences, emphasizing the significant loss felt by all who knew him.
Mirundi’s funeral is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Kalagala, Kaliisizo, Rakai District. His enduring legacy of integrity and service continues to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
