Kampala– On Thursday evening , the Principal Judge, Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo, together with Justices of the Court of Appeal, the Acting Chief Registrar, HW Pamela Lamunu Ocaya, Registrars of the Court of Appeal, officers attached to the Chambers of the Deputy Chief Justice, the Principal Judge and the Acting Chief Registrar, as well as officers from the Registry of Communications and Public Relations, paid a surprise congratulatory visit to the Chief Justice Designate, Justice Dr Flavian Zeija, at his Chambers at the Court of Appeal in Kampala.

The delegation surprised the Chief Justice Designate with a cake in celebration of his elevation to the office of Chief Justice.
Speaking during the brief but warm interaction, Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo said the elevation of Justice Dr Zeija was well deserved and a reflection of his honesty, commitment and diligence. She noted that as Chief Justice, he is expected to build on the Judiciary’s ongoing transformation by strengthening access to justice, improving efficiency in court operations, and upholding integrity across the institution.
Justices of the Court of Appeal congratulated Justice Dr Zeija on his elevation, noting that while he will be greatly missed at the Court of Appeal, his leadership, experience and steady guidance will now serve the Judiciary as a whole.
In his remarks, Justice Dr Flavian Zeija welcomed the surprise and thanked his colleagues for the gesture and the goodwill shown. He expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement as he prepares to assume the office of Chief Justice, and reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the transformation of the Judiciary in line with its constitutional mandate
