KIBOGA POLICE RECOVER STOLEN CATTLE, ARREST THREE

Kiboga, Uganda – In a swift response to a tip from the public, territorial police in Kiboga have recovered two suspected stolen animals, a cow and a bull, in Lufula cell, Kiboga town ward, Kiboga town council, Kiboga district.

The incident occurred on September 17, 2024, at approximately 8:00 am, when authorities received information that two unknown individuals were attempting to sell the cattle without proper documentation.

Responding promptly to the call, police officers apprehended three suspects and recovered the two heads of cattle.

The suspects have been identified as:

Kamya Paul, 19, resident of Busunju, Mityana district

Kayizzi Ronald, alias Gerald, 35, resident of Kabanyi, Wattuba subcounty, Kyankwanzi district

Kibombo Rashid, 27, taxi driver, resident of Kayunga, Wakiso district

Additionally, the taxi vehicle (UAY 374M) suspected to have been used in transporting the cattle was recovered from a washing bay in Kiboga district and is currently parked at Kiboga Police Station.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects attempted to sell the animals to a local butcher, who became suspicious due to the lack of documentation.

Reports suggest that the cattle were allegedly stolen from Busunju.

Commenting on the successful recovery, SP Kawala Racheal, Police spokesperson Wamala region , praised the community’s vigilance, stating, “We commend the public for their prompt reporting, which led to the recovery of the suspected stolen animals.”

A case of possession of suspected stolen property has been opened at Kiboga Police Station, reference number 35/17/09/2024.

The police urge anyone with information regarding the theft or sale of stolen animals to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
