KZN launches mass foot-and-mouth vaccination drive on south coast

The KwaZulu-Natal province has started the roll-out of a mass vaccination drive against foot-and-mouth disease at the Bhobhoyi communal dip tank near Port Shepstone.
The provincial Agriculture Department says there’s been a good turnout.
It’s expected that between 45 000 and 60 000 cattle from communal areas and commercial farms in the Ugu District will be vaccinated in the next week.
Doses of the Biogenesis vaccine from Argentina are being administered.
National government embarked on a drive to buy millions of doses of foot-and-mouth vaccines from several countries in a national strategy to stop the nationwide outbreak.
