Uganda Premier League newcomers Lugazi FC have officially signed Ian Amanya, SportsNation can reliably confirm.

The skillful forward has joined Lugazi FC on a two-year contract.

Amanya, who has been a top transfer target for both Maroons FC and Mbarara City, makes the move to the Sadick Ssempigi-coached side.

During his time at Kaaro Karungi, Amanya scored eight goals in the BetPawa Big League, just three goals behind the club’s top scorer, Emmanuel Amanya.

He joins a list of new recruits at Lugazi FC, including Emmanuel Obua, Nelson Mandela, Dennis Lubowa, and Sharif Saaka.

Amanya has previously played for Spartans Academy, Kazo Excel FC, and KL United Namasuba before his stint at Kaaro Karungi.

Lugazi FC has also confirmed Sadick Ssempigi and Olivier Mbekeka as their Head Coach and Assistant Coach, respectively.

Meanwhile, defender Savio Kabugo has left the club after his one-year contract expired.

In other news, the club has extended the contracts of Paul Wasswa, Derrick Mwanje, and defender Richard Ayiko as they prepare for the upcoming season.
