Lusikisiki mass murder trial adjourned to Wednesday

Lusikisiki mass murder trial adjourned to Wednesday

The trial of the six men accused of the mass murder of 18 people in Lusikisiki and a politician from KwaBhaca will now only resume on Wednesday.
The matter was postponed in the High Court sitting in Lusikisiki on Monday after accused number four in the case, Bonga Hintsa, submitted a doctor’s certificate and was unable to attend court.
A trial within a trial is being heard to establish whether the confessions of some of the accused were obtained under duress.
Accused number five, Songezo Vuma, is not disputing both his statements in relation to the KwaBhaca and Ngobozana murders.
All suspects remain in custody.
