Minister Rwamirama Declared Unopposed in Isingiro

Isingiro-Hon. Bright Rwamirama, the state Minister for Animal industry under Ministry of Agriculture, on Saturday was declared unopposed in the race for Isingiro North parliamentary seat.

This follows the withdrawal of Alliance for National Transformation candidate Anthony Rutahwire from the contest under unclear circumstances.
Later on, the Electoral Commission had disqualified other contenders, including Ankunda Best Anorld of the PFF and Ntanda Sharif, after determining that they had allegedly forged the signatures of their seconders, despite having initially been nominated.
Rwamirama was declared unopposed by Isingiro District Returning Officer Arinaitwe Julius.
The Minister has joined the long list of NRM Candidates who have been declared unopposed ahead of the 2021 General elections scheduled to take place next week.
