MITYANA POLICE ARREST MAN FOR KILLING WIFE

Mityana, Uganda – Police in Mityana have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife in a domestic fight.

The woman, Nabisinde Margret, 35, died from serious injuries after her husband, Tumusiime Samuel, beat her. The couple lived in Kyakkosi village, Kagerekamu Parish, Sekanyonyi sub-county, Mityana District.

According to police, Tumusiime got angry because he thought his wife was spending his money on alcohol. The fight happened on September 16, 2024, at 2:00 am.

Police found Nabisinde’s body in the living room of their home. Investigators collected evidence, including a broken stool, iron bar, and hoe handle, which were allegedly used in the attack.

Tumusiime Samuel has been arrested and is being held at Sekanyonyi Police Station. A murder case has been opened under reference number 11/16/09/2024.

“The police urge victims of domestic violence to seek help,” said Police Spokesperson Wamala Region Racheal Kawala. “Report your cases to local leaders, police, or family protection services.”

The body has been sent to Mityana Hospital for examination.
