Mugulusi Returns To The UPL
URA FC have confirmed creative midfielder Isma Mugulusi as their latest new signing.
“Tax payers, the wait is over. Introducing to you the talented attacking midfield gem Isma Mugulusi. Welcome to the Tax collectors’ family son,” the club announced on Friday morning.
The midfielder has joined the Tax Collectors on a two-year deal, returning to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) after a few years away.
Locally, Mugulusi previously featured for Busoga United and SC Villa before moving out to have stints at FK Riteriai in Lithuania and Greek second division side Makedonikos Neapolis.
The midfielder was instrumental in the Uganda Hippos (U-20) team that won silver at the CAF U-20 championships in Mauritania, 2021, under coach Morley Byekwaso.
Mugulusi is only the first player to be officially unveiled by URA so far, but they have also signed Derrick Ochan from KCCA, Abdul Magada from Gadaffi, Ibrahim Kazindula from BUL and defender Bright Vuni from UPDF.
Meanwhile, the club has also confirmed the exit of Najib Fesali, Viane Ssekajugo, Eric Ssenjobe, Said Kyeyune, Ibrahim Dada, Samuel Mwaka, with other players like James Alitho also reportedly on the way out.
