Teachers, students, and parents of Uganda Martyrs Secondary School Namugongo gathered at the Namugongo Martyrs Basilica to thank God for the excellent performance of the Senior Six candidates who sat for the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.

The thanksgiving Mass was led by the school chaplain, Alex Semogerere, who thanked God for guiding the students throughout their studies and helping them recall what they had learned during the examination period. He also commended the school administration led by the Head Teacher, Dr. Rev. Fr. Henry Kasasa, the teaching and non-teaching staff, and the parents for their support and dedication that contributed to the students’ success.

Fr. Semogerere encouraged the current Senior Six students to work even harder so that they can perform better than the previous candidates.

The Head Teacher, Dr. Rev. Fr. Henry Kasasa, said the school had achieved one of the best performances in its history. He noted that 499 students sat for the UACE examinations in 2025, with 36 students scoring 20 points, 54 scoring 19 points, 50 scoring 18 points, 40 scoring 17 points, 52 scoring 16 points, and 57 scoring 15 points.

He thanked the students, teachers, and parents for their sacrifice and commitment that enabled the school to achieve such outstanding results.

Dr. Kasasa also mentioned some of the top-performing students who scored 20 points, including Brianna Ssebuufu (HED/SM), Nestroy Lutaaya (PCB/ICT), Edith Noelina (BCM/ICT), Hillary Kasingye (BCM/ICT), and Betty Atuyire (HEL/SM), among others.

He urged the vacists not to relax after their success but to carry the same determination and discipline to the universities they hope to join. He also advised them to maintain the discipline they learned at Uganda Martyrs S.S Namugongo and avoid negative peer groups while at campus so that they can achieve their bright future.

Dr. Kasasa further encouraged the students to uphold the school’s core values and remain connected with the friendships they built during their secondary school life.
