The quarterfinals of the National Men’s T20 League will take center stage this Sunday as eight teams battle for a place in the last four at various grounds.

ODI defending champions Kutchi Tigers will face Wanderers at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe in a morning affair while Ceylon Lions will take on Avengers in the afternoon at the same grounds.

The Tigers progressed to the last eight as Group A winners with 12 points while Wanderers advanced as Group B runners up with as many points.

Ceylon Lions topped Group C with a maximum 16 points. They were one of the only two teams to win all their group games.

Their Sunday opponents Avengers made their way to the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group D.

Group D winners Nyakasura will meet Rounders on Sunday afternoon at Jinja Cricket Oval. Nyakasura are the other side that went unbeaten in the group stages, winning all their games comfortably.

Rounders’ 10 points in Group C were enough for them to secure their place in the last eight as they collected two more than Jinja Association Cricket Club.

Group B runners up Budo Cricket Club against Tornado Cricket Club- winners of Group B- will be the other quarterfinal duel that will played at the Jinja Oval.

Tornado won their group convincingly, but Budo sneaked at this level after winning their final two games by forfeit. The side were meant to face Kutchi Tigers in a double header last Sunday, but the latter made no appearance hence the former’s victory.

Tornado Bees were at that time placed second in the group with 11 points, but with their forfeit wins, Budo snatched the second position with a point more.
