Serere– The Judiciary on Tuesday commissioned the newly constructed Serere Chief Magistrate’s Court Building in a ceremony aimed at strengthening access to justice and improving service delivery in the Teso sub-region.

The event, took place at the court grounds under the theme “Justice that Listens, Serves and Resolves,” is being presided over by the Principal Judge, Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo as Chief Guest.
Upon arrival, the Principal Judge inspected the guard of honour before being received by the Resident Judge of Soroti, Justice Boniface Wamala, the Judiciary Public Relations Officer HW James
Ereemye, and the Deputy Registrar Soroti High Court, HW Emmy Sayekwo, HW Okiror Edmund Okwi and HW Ariokot Proscovia, Magistrates attached to Serere CM Court, among others.
This was followed by the unveiling of the commemorative plaque marking the official commissioning of the court.
The Principal Judge later planted a Tree of Justice within the court premises together with Justice Wamala.
She also undertook a brief inspection of the newly constructed court building, guided by Mr. Mpyangu Samuel Natudde Senior Regional Executive Engineer representing Acting Commissioner Engineering and Technical Services Department.
The Principal Judge inspected the key justice and security institutions in Serere, including the Central Police Station, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the Office of the Resident State Attorney.
The event was moderated by the Public Relations Officer HW James Ereemye and Communications Officer Deo Akugizibwe.
