Former Speaker Among Congratulates Oboth and Tayebwa


Kampala– After days without hearing from her, the former Speaker and Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Annet Anita Among has sent out a message to the new Speaker of Parliament Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth and his Deputy Thomas Tayebwa.

“I join my colleagues in congratulating Rt Hon @ObothOboth and Rt Hon @Thomas_Tayebwa on their election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament.”

She added, that she has no doubt that their leadership will bolster the legislative agenda and promote outcomes that serve our nation’s best interests. “I sincerely wish you success in your service to our country.”
During the first 12th Parliamentary sitting at Kololo ceremonial grounds on Monday 25th May 2026, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates emerged Victor on the position of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
