With the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association National Championship fast approaching, East African champions Bukedea Comprehensive School have lined up three friendly matches to sharpen their preparations ahead of the tournament, which kicks off in two weeks.
Bukedea will first face the Uganda U17 National Team on Friday, April 24th at FUFA Kadiiba Stadium, with kickoff set for 8:00 AM.
They will then take on Kampala Zone champions, Lubiri Secondary School, on Saturday, April 25th in Kampala, with kickoff scheduled for 10:00 AM. The friendly series will conclude on Sunday, April 26th against Mukono Zone champions, St. Mark High School Kayunga in Kayunga, with kickoff slated for 4:00 PM.
Bukedea Comprehensive heads into the nationals with high ambitions, aiming to go all the way after finishing among the top four schools in the country in each of the last two editions.
However, their campaign in this year’s Teso Zone qualifiers ended in disappointment after a semifinal defeat to Amus College School via a penalty shootout.
Earlier in their preparations, Bukedea registered a 2–1 victory over Kakamega High School at Bukedea Comprehensive Stadium, further boosting confidence within the squad.
According to the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association program, the official launch and draws will take place on Monday, April 27th. Teams are expected to arrive at Lira Town College on Sunday, May 10th, with matches kicking off on Tuesday, May 11th.
The competition will climax on Tuesday, May 19th with the finals and closing ceremony, before teams depart on Wednesday, May 20th.
