UMEA Solidarity Games 2026 Netball: Kaddugala SS Launch Title Charge | Voice of Bugerere

Kaddugala Secondary School made an emphatic statement on the opening day of the 2026 UMEA Solidarity Games, cruising past Kakukugulu Memorial with a dominant 17-08 victory at Maluku Grounds in Mbale City.
The commanding performance instantly thrust last year’s semifinalists into early contention for the coveted trophy, as they seek to go one step further after falling short against Greenlight Islamic SS in the 2025 semifinals.
Kaddugala showed intent from the first whistle, controlling proceedings with sharp attacking play and a disciplined defensive setup that left Kakukugulu struggling to keep pace. The convincing win places Kaddugala among the early frontrunners in Group E.
Their quest for group supremacy continues tomorrow when they face Ngando SS in what promises to be another crucial fixture.
This year’s UMEA Solidarity Games, hosted by Nkoma SS in Mbale, threw off with thrilling netball action across various venues, delivering a series of eye-catching results.
Defending powerhouse Greenlight Islamic SS opened their campaign with a 17-11 win over Namagabi SS before edging Hamdan Girls by the same margin in a tightly contested encounter.
Elsewhere, Hamdan Islamic SS displayed fine form with two victories, defeating Bugembe Islamic 24-1 and later overcoming Kyantamba SS 16-13. Kawanda SS also impressed, registering back-to-back wins against Bilal Islamic (19-07) and Kasawo SS (19-05).

Amity SS and Busiika Muslim shared the spotlight in a pair of contrasting results, with Amity claiming a 21-09 win over Buziga Islamic before falling 13-11 to Busiika Muslim.
Wamatovu SS edged hosts Nkoma SS 15-13 and later secured another win against Ibn Buz, while Gombe SS delivered one of the day’s most dominant performances, thrashing Mariam High 21-01.
Kyantamba SS bounced back in style with a commanding 27-08 victory over Nakaloke, while Namagabi SS recovered from their opening loss to defeat Kasana Vocational 19-16.
