{"id":1080,"date":"2026-05-23T03:45:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T03:45:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xavieradioug.com\/news\/wakiso-court-users-sensitized-on-court-processes\/"},"modified":"2026-05-23T03:45:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T03:45:16","slug":"wakiso-court-users-sensitized-on-court-processes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xavieradioug.com\/news\/wakiso-court-users-sensitized-on-court-processes\/","title":{"rendered":"Wakiso Court Users Sensitized on Court Processes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \n<br \/>\n                                Wakiso Chief Magistrates Court on Wednesday, was filled to capacity as court users and members of the public turned up for a sensitization drive on court processes and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the Judicial officers who spear headed sensitization process.<br \/>\nThe engagement, organised by the Judiciary\u2019s Registry of Communications and Public Relations, aimed at creating awareness about court operations, Judiciary innovations, and the available avenues through which members of the public can access justice services.<br \/>\nThe activity forms part of an ongoing countrywide initiative to bridge the information gap between courts and court users, while strengthening public confidence in the justice system.<br \/>\nAddressing participants at the court premises, Senior Magistrate, HW Farida Ikyimaana, guided the public on the jurisdiction of the court and encouraged communities to embrace Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as a timely and harmonious way of resolving disputes.<br \/>\n\u201cPlease listen closely, take this knowledge to heart, and most importantly, embrace ADR,\u201d she urged the gathering, adding that ADR delivers timely justice and fosters community harmony.<br \/>\nHW Ikyimaana also underscored the importance of collaboration among court staff and justice sector partners, including the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Uganda Police Force and Uganda Prisons Service, in ensuring efficient delivery of justice.<br \/>\nCourt users were also invited to attend the upcoming Court Open Day scheduled for May 26, 2026, at Wakiso High Court.<br \/>\nMagistrate Grade One, HW Siena Owomugisha, encouraged the public to actively participate in sensitization engagements, noting that such forums provide valuable insight into how courts operate and how court users can navigate the justice system.<br \/>\nParticipants were taken through various aspects of court operations by Ms. Evas Kobusingye, a Client Service Officer from the Judiciary. These included mediation, plea bargaining, and the refund of bail.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nInformation, Education and Communication materials were distributed to guide court users on their rights, court processes and available services. The engagement also featured a question-and-answer session, during which members of the public raised concerns and received clarifications on various court procedures.<br \/>\nThe sensitization campaign attracted court users, advocates and other justice sector players, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting access to justice and building public trust in the Judiciary.<br \/>\nAlso in attendance was HW Frank Kwesigabo, Magistrate Grade One at Wakiso Magistrates Court.
