{"id":1392,"date":"2026-06-09T10:53:50","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T10:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xavieradioug.com\/news\/78-ministers-sworn-in-at-state-house-entebbe\/"},"modified":"2026-06-09T10:53:50","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T10:53:50","slug":"78-ministers-sworn-in-at-state-house-entebbe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xavieradioug.com\/news\/78-ministers-sworn-in-at-state-house-entebbe\/","title":{"rendered":"78 Ministers Sworn in at State House Entebbe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \n<br \/>\n                                Entebbe-President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Uganda\u2019s newly appointed Cabinet ministers and Ministers of State, marking the beginning of a new phase of government administration.<\/p>\n<p>President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni with the newly sworn in Ministers at State House Entebbe on Monday.<br \/>\nThe ceremony, held today at State House Entebbe, saw 78 members of the executive take the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Minister, formally assuming their responsibilities in government.<br \/>\nGuiding the swearing-in process was the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Ms. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye. The event was attended by senior government officials, judicial leaders, security chiefs, families and friends of the ministers.<br \/>\nAddressing the newly<br \/>\nsworn-in leaders, President Museveni offered a brief but pointed message, congratulating them on their appointments and wishing them success in serving the country.<br \/>\n\u201cHere, I just congratulate you and wish you good luck,\u201d the President said.<br \/>\nAmong the senior government officials sworn-in were Vice President, H.E Jessica Alupo and Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, who also serves as leader of government business in Parliament.<br \/>\nCabinet ministers who took the oath included the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga; the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Hon. Dr. Crispus Walter Kiyonga; and the Third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister without Portfolio, Hon. Lukia Nakadama.<br \/>\nOther Cabinet ministers sworn-in were the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda; the Minister of Security, Hon. Jim Muhwezi; the Minister in the Office of the President in charge of Science, Technology and Innovation, Eng. Jonard Asiimwe; the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hon. Minsa Kabanda; the Minister for General Duties, Hon. Eng. Hillary Onek; the Government Chief Whip, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng; and the Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Sam Engola.<br \/>\nVice President Hon. Jessica Alupo taking oath<br \/>\nAlso taking the oath were the Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Hon. John Baptist Lokii; the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze; the Attorney General, Hon. Sam Mayanja; the Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka; the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero; and the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Henry Musasizi.<br \/>\nOthers included the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde Kakurugu; the Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi; the Minister of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance, Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba; the Minister of Internal Affairs, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu; the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Norbert Mao; the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Judith Nabakooba; and the Minister of Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara.<br \/>\nThe Minister of Public Service, Gen. Katumba Wamala; the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon. Tom Butime; the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Sanjay Tanna; the Minister of Water and Environment, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire; and the Minister of Works and Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama, also took their oath of office.<br \/>\nPrime Minister Rt. Hon Robinah Nabanja<br \/>\nThe Ministers of State sworn-in under the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President included the Minister of State for Economic Monitoring, Hon. Sandra Santa Alum; the Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity, Hon. Rose Akello; and the Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President, Hon. Diana Nankunda Mutasingwa.<br \/>\nUnder the Office of the Prime Minister, those sworn-in included the Minister of State for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Lillian Aber; the Minister of State for Northern Uganda, Hon. Beatrice Akello; the Minister of State for Karamoja Affairs, Hon. Esther Davinia Anyakun; the Minister of State for Luwero Triangle-Rwenzori Region, Hon. Alice Kaboyo; the Minister of State for Bunyoro Affairs, Hon. Grace Mary Mugasa; and the Minister of State for Teso Affairs, Hon. Dr. Ongalo-Obote.<br \/>\nOther Ministers of State included the Minister of State for Agriculture, Hon. Desire Muhooza; the Minister of State for Animal Industry, Hon. Bright Rwamirama; and the Minister of State for Fisheries, Hon. Robert Ndugwa Migadde.<br \/>\nThe Deputy Attorney General, Hon. Jackson Kafuuzi, also took the oath of office.<br \/>\nOther Ministers of State sworn-in included Hon. Grace Ngabirano Akifeza (Defence); Hon. Huda Oleru (Veteran Affairs); Hon. Magode Ikuya (East African Affairs); Hon. Dr. John Chrysestom Muyingo (Higher Education); Hon. Phyllis Chemutai (Primary Education); and Hon. Peter Ogwang (Sports).<br \/>\nAlso taking the oath were Hon. Sidronius Opolot Okasai (Energy); Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro (Minerals)<br \/>\nHon. Cissy Mulondo (Finance, Planning and Economic Development \u2013 General Duties); Hon. Amos Lugoloobi (Finance, Planning and Economic Development \u2013 Planning); Ms. Amina Mukalazi (Finance, Planning and Economic Development \u2013 Privatization and Investment); and Hon.
