\nKamwenge Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Afrikano Aharikundira said the closure is a preventive containment measure aimed at protecting livestock and safeguarding farmers\u2019 livelihoods. He explained that the move followed technical guidance from veterinary officers and was agreed upon during a district coordination meeting after alerts indicated increasing disease risk.
\nAfrikano noted that surveillance and response efforts have been intensified across the district to monitor and control any potential outbreak. He urged farmers to avoid moving animals, report suspected cases immediately, and comply with all control measures, warning that enforcement teams will ensure strict adherence until the situation is contained.
