Mukono Man Petitions Authorities After Surgery Leaves Him Counting One Instead of Two Balls – ONLINE

A resident of Mukono District has petitioned the police and the Resident State Attorney’s office in Iganga over allegations that one of his testicles was removed during surgery without his informed consent. Isabirye Simon says he underwent an operation at Testimonies Medical Centre in Iganga under the care of Dr. Johnson Bamudaziza, but later discovered that one of his testicles had been removed during the procedure. In petitions dated April 11 and April 20, 2026, Isabirye claims the surgery has caused him physical, emotional, and psychological distress. He says he is also concerned about what he describes as inconsistencies in medical and police records regarding the facility where the operation was conducted.According to Isabirye, he was taken to the facility by a man identified as Musa Kakaire after developing a health problem. He says documents later indicated that the operation was conducted at Hope Medical Clinic, although he insists the surgery took place at Testimonies Medical Centre. He has asked authorities to investigate the alleged contradictions, establish the actual facility where the procedure was conducted, and take action against anyone found responsible for providing inaccurate information. Isabirye also raised concerns about the handling of the matter at Iganga Police Station, alleging that some witnesses and family members faced challenges during the investigation process. He further claims that officers suggested compensation of five million shillings, an offer he rejected, insisting that the matter should be handled through legal channels. However, Dr. Johnson Bamudaziza has defended the procedure, saying the operation was conducted based on medical necessity.Dr. Bamudaziza explained that Isabirye had initially been diagnosed with a hernia and was scheduled for surgery. He said that during the operation, medical findings showed that one of the testicles had already been severely damaged and could not be preserved.“It wouldn’t have helped to leave it there and then have the patient come back with more complications,” Dr. Bamudaziza said. The doctor maintained that the decision to remove the affected organ was made in the patient’s best medical interest and to prevent further complications.Medical experts say removal of one testicle does not automatically result in infertility or loss of sexual function, as the remaining testicle can, in many cases, continue producing hormones and sperm. However, outcomes may depend on factors such as the patient’s health condition and the circumstances surrounding the surgery. The matter has now been presented before the relevant authorities, who are expected to review medical records, police files, and other evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the operation. The case has raised questions about informed consent, medical documentation, and accountability in healthcare services.About Post Author
Post navigation

<a
