(Courtesy photo)<br \/>\nAccording to the program released on Saturday 4th April 2026, there will be a Vigil at the family home on Mawanda Road, Kamwokya starting 5:00 pm.<br \/>\n\u201cSunday April 5, 2026: Official vigil at the family home on Mawanda Road, Kamwokya. Monday April 6, 2026: There will be a funeral service at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero starting at 2:00 pm.\u201d<br \/>\nHowever, the committee has promised to release a detailed program in the due course.<br \/>\nIn the same vain, the Judiciary is also mourning the death of Retired Justice Nshimye.<br \/>\n\u201cJustice Nshimye will be remembered for his intellect, integrity, humility, and steadfast commitment to the rule of law. His legacy is etched in the many lives he touched, the institutions<br \/>\nhe helped shape, and the jurisprudence he enriched.\u201d Remarked Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija<br \/>\nThe Judiciary also extended its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.<br \/>\n\u201cBlessed are those who die in the Lord\u2026 they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them.\u201d \u2013 Revelation 14:13<br \/>\nJustice Nshimye passed away on Friday 03rd April 2026 and the cause of death has not yet been pronounced.<br \/>\nJustice Nshimye was born on 12th December 1946 in Namutamba, Bulera Sub-county in Mityana District. He passed away today (3rd April 2026), leaving behind a legacy of Service, integrity, and commitment to the rule of law.<br \/>\nHe began his public service career in 1966 as a Clerical Officer and steadily rose through the ranks of the Judiciary, serving in various capacities from Clerical Officer, Magistrate Grade I, to ultimately Justice of the Supreme Court. Between 1986 and 1988, he served as Deputy Chief Registrar, before switching to private legal practice in 1988.<br \/>\nHis return to the Bench marked the beginning of an illustrious judicial chapter. In 2008, he was appointed Justice of the Court of Appeal\/Constitutional Court, where he distinguished himself through sound jurisprudence and principled decision-making.<br \/>\nIn 2010, he was appointed Acting Justice of the Supreme Court, and in September 2015, he attained the pinnacle of judicial service<br \/>\nwhen he was elevated to the substantive position of Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda.<br \/>\nIn the same year, he was appointed the pioneer Chief Inspector of Courts, a role he served concurrently with his duties at the Supreme Court.<br \/>\nIn this position, he was instrumental in promoting accountability, efficiency, and integrity within the Judiciary.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/thetorchuganda.com\/2026\/04\/04\/update-justice-nshimyes-burrial-program-out\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Burrial Organizing committee for Retired Supreme Court Judge Augustine Nshimye, has released a tentative program.
