Nyombi Thembo, UCC Executive Director, the Telecommunication Regulator said, that it had received numerous complaints from members of the public regarding the song\u2019s lyrics and its widespread circulation across radio, television, and digital platforms. Following a preliminary review, the Commission concluded that the song promotes and glorifies violence, both explicitly and implicitly.<br \/>\nAccording to UCC, the track has also sparked a dangerous trend of viral \u201cchallenge\u201d activities, particularly on social media platforms such as TikTok, where youths are reportedly mimicking and celebrating violent behavior inspired by the song.<br \/>\n\u201cThe continued dissemination and distribution of such content poses a risk to public safety, undermines societal values, and contravenes established broadcasting and content standards,\u201d the Commission noted.<br \/>\nAs part of the directive, all broadcasters have been ordered to halt the airing of the song and any related discussions across their platforms until investigations are concluded. Additionally, online content providers and social media operators have been instructed to remove the song, disable access to it, and prevent further uploads or sharing.<br \/>\nThe regulator also warned that individuals and entities found sharing or promoting the prohibited content risk legal consequences under the Uganda Communications Act and Content Regulations.
