\n Mpigi- Learners of Kololo Senior Secondary School in Mpigi District have received a major boost in their sporting journey after being introduced to modern Quadball techniques through an interactive virtual session with international players.<\/p>\n

\nDuring the Zoom engagement, members of the school\u2019s Quadball team and other interested students were taken through key skills required to excel in the fast-growing sport, with a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork.
\nAlvaro Gallego Puerta, a Quadball player with Barcelona Eagles, highlighted the importance of coordination among players. \u201cCommunication and teamwork are key to success in this game. We have two types of communication\u2014talking and signaling during play. Without communication, even the best team can fail,\u201d he noted.
\nAnna, an experienced international Quadball player, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that teamwork extends beyond the field. \u201cIt is important to build unity as a team. When we work together, we achieve better results,\u201d she said, urging players to foster strong bonds with one another.
\nThe interactive session also gave students an opportunity to ask questions about the game, with facilitators providing detailed responses that enriched their understanding.
\nSpeaking on behalf of the participants, Nakandi Joanita expressed gratitude to the organizers. \u201cWe thank the ELSA team for continuously supporting us from the introduction of this game up to now. This session has greatly expanded our knowledge,\u201d she said.
\nNambaziira Fazila, a Senior Four student and team member, noted that Quadball has significantly enhanced her skills. \u201cIt has improved my teamwork and boosted my confidence, especially because it involves both boys and girls,\u201d she explained.
\nNakazibwe Patience, also in Senior Four, described the sport as life-changing. \u201cI never thought I could manage such a game, but now I\u2019ve gained new friends both locally and internationally. With continued practice, I hope to become a national champion,\u201d she said.
\nSegujja Muhammad, a Senior Three student, encouraged fellow learners to take part in co-curricular activities, particularly Quadball, for personal growth and future opportunities.
\nThe school\u2019s head teacher, Julius Ambrose Namanye, commended the initiative, noting its impact on learners. \u201cThis interaction has been very important, as many students previously lacked adequate information about Quadball. Since its introduction by ELSA Africa last year, it has attracted more interest than many other sports,\u201d he said.
\nHe added that the school plans to construct a dedicated Quadball pitch and recruit a permanent coach to further develop the team, especially as Kololo SS prepares to host this year\u2019s Quadball tournament.
