According to the contractor, significant works have been completed, including excavation, installation of culverts, subgrade and subbase construction, swamp treatment, and fabrication of concrete materials such as culverts and kerb stones.
Despite the progress, several critical issues were identified. At Km 12+370, the contractor was directed to urgently establish a temporary earth drain to manage flooding affecting nearby homes. In swampy sections around Km 14, immediate action was required to improve accessibility by making the road motorable.
Stakeholders also emphasized strict adherence to agreed land boundaries. At Km 16+300, where the road alignment extended beyond expected limits, it was resolved that Project Affected Persons would be engaged within one week to determine the appropriate course of action.
Additional concerns included poor drainage at the road’s endpoint, water stagnation at the campsite, and delayed installation of road signposts. The District Contracts Manager raised concern over repeated delays in fulfilling commitments, especially regarding signage.
Representing the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Kamala Daneil stressed the urgency of addressing all outstanding issues to guarantee the project’s success and sustainability. He called for strict implementation of resolutions from progress meetings, timely reporting, and improved coordination among stakeholders.
He further directed the contractor to prioritize access roads, bus bay construction, and engagement with affected communities. At Ms. Eugene Nsubuga’s property, it was agreed that works will remain within the consented area, with the resident engineer urging her to expedite quotations for relocation of utilities and fencing to avoid delays.
The progress meeting underscored Mukono District’s strong commitment to ensuring accountability, quality, and timely delivery of the Ntenjeru–Bule Road 7.8 Km project. While notable progress has been achieved, the success of the project will depend on how quickly outstanding issues are resolved and how effectively stakeholders collaborate.
With continued supervision, community engagement, and adherence to agreed standards, the project is expected to significantly improve connectivity, enhance livelihoods, and drive socio-economic transformation in Mpatta and surrounding areas.

Source link

Mukono District Local Government has intensified oversight on the ongoing upgrade of the 7.8km Ntenjeru–Bule Road, holding its

{"facebook_3659155457675267_172535249438148":"
[2

post-474","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road.jpg",1600,1066,false
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-768x512.jpg",640,427,true
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-1024x682.jpg",640,426,true],"1536x1536":["https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-1536x1023.jpg",1536,1023,true],"2048x2048":["https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road.jpg",1600,1066,false
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://xavieradioug.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Mukono-District-Intensifies-Oversight-on-Ntenjeru–Bule-Road-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
Editor
["GET
