Kiwanuka Henry Basajjabaka, who commended leaders for their unity and coordinated efforts.<br \/>\nHe noted that this cooperation has significantly boosted revenue performance, with collections increasing from about UGX 200 million to over UGX 400 million, and market revenues rising from UGX 80 million to UGX 130 million. He urged both current and incoming leaders to maintain transparency and avoid corruption in leadership.<br \/>\nThe Secretary for Finance, Hon. Kyeswa Nicholas, presented the budget, highlighting key priorities such as installation of street lights to improve security and business activity within the town.<br \/>\nThe Town Clerk Mr. Kizito Francis Walubi outlined major focus areas for the upcoming financial year starting 1st July 2026.<br \/>\nThese include road construction and rehabilitation, improved garbage management through waste separation and proper disposal systems, and support to schools through procurement of desks. He also emphasized continued support for household income initiatives under the Parish Development Model (PDM), including community sensitization, group formation, and monitoring of beneficiaries.<br \/>\nThe LCIII Chairperson (Mayor), Mr. Isa Nvule Walusimbi, reflected on achievements from the outgoing financial year, including support to schools with desks and materials, and efforts to promote agriculture. However, he expressed concern over some individuals who resist development initiatives, citing the loss of a potential market project under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area due to such challenges.<br \/>\nThe District Councilor Hon. Ssempaka Bernard called upon technical staff to handle PDM beneficiaries with care and avoid actions that could discourage or frustrate them.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, the Woman District Councilor, Hon. Nasazi Martha, who also serves as Secretary for Gender and Health at the district, urged leaders to respect and appreciate retired public servants for their contribution. She also advised local leaders to be vigilant in land matters, especially in preventing exploitation involving small land plots.<br \/>\nThe council meeting was marked by appreciation of councilors for their service, with participation from LCII and LCI chairpersons, as well as technical staff of Nakifuma\u2013Naggalama Town Council.<br \/>\nThe approval of the UGX 490 million budget signals a renewed commitment by Nakifuma\u2013Naggalama Town Council to drive development and improve livelihoods.
