\nAccording to a public notice issued by KCCA on Thursday May 13, 2026, the suspension affects parking spaces stretching from the Entebbe Road junction to the Jinja Road\/Yusuf Lule junction near Kitgum House.
\nKCCA said the decision was taken to support better mobility in the city centre and reduce congestion along one of Kampala\u2019s busiest transport corridors.
\nMotorists have been advised to use alternative parking locations including Station Road, Dewinton Road, Said Barre Road and Nkrumah Road. Drivers have also been encouraged to use parking spaces within buildings and commercial off-street parking facilities such as the National Theatre, Uganda House and the multi-storey car park along Portal Avenue.
\nThe authority urged all motorists to comply with the new parking arrangements and cooperate with enforcement officers during the implementation of the directive.
\nKCCA noted that the changes are part of ongoing efforts to create a safer and more efficient city transport system under its \u201cFor a Livable City\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n\n
