Alhaji Osman Ahmed Noor, has commended dfcu Bank for its commitment to community service beyond profits, as the bank marked its 62nd anniversary with the launch of a major health camp in Walukuba.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the people who turned for the health camp.<br \/>\nRepresenting His Majesty the Kyabazinga of Busoga, Owek. Osman delivered remarks at the dfcu Humanity Day event, praising the bank for dedicating the occasion to humanity, health, and community wellbeing.<br \/>\nHe highlighted the launch of a joint dfcu Bank\u2013Rotary Uganda Health Camp, which provided free medical services including screenings for sickle cell, diabetes, malaria, dental care, eye care, and general consultations.<br \/>\nThe initiative builds on past collaborative efforts by dfcu Bank and its partners, which have already benefited over 21,700 Ugandans, including support for more than 2,500 surgeries and 22 life-saving heart procedures.<br \/>\nOwek. Osman emphasized that the health camp aligns closely with the Kyabazinga\u2019s vision that \u201chealth comes before everything else,\u201d aimed at building a healthy, productive, and self-reliant Busoga.<br \/>\nHe urged residents to take full advantage of health camps whenever organized, embrace early testing, and adopt preventive health practices.<br \/>\n\u201cHealth is foundational to the prosperity of our kingdom,\u201d he said, while inviting dfcu Bank to expand its partnership with Busoga beyond health into critical areas such as youth skilling, women\u2019s empowerment, education, agriculture, and fighting teenage pregnancies.<br \/>\nKate Kiiza, Executive Director at dfcu Bank, represented the CEO and reiterated the bank\u2019s belief that strong communities are essential for sustainable growth.<br \/>\nShe noted that the camp\u2019s goal of reaching over 2,000 people was realized with much-needed services that are often inaccessible due to distance or cost.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are deeply appreciative of the support and partnership of the Busoga Kingdom,\u201d Kiiza said, applauding the Kingdom\u2019s role in mobilization and leadership on social issues.<br \/>\nShe also thanked Rotary Uganda for its longstanding collaboration in health, education, and community development.<br \/>\nShe said that as part of humanity, they put aside 1 billion shillings to actually support communities and do humanitarian activities specifically in collaboration with Busoga Kingdom and Rotary Uganda to reach the different communities in Busoga and impact them.<br \/>\nKiiza revealed that dfcu Bank has plans to organize 17 health camps across the country in celebration of the Bank\u2019s 62nd anniversary adding that the Jinja Health Camp marked the kicking off of all the 17 health camps to be organized.<br \/>\nAfter her remarks, Kiiza introduced staff of dfcu Bank before guests at the event.<\/p>\n<p>District Governor of Rotary District 9213, Geoffrey Martin Kitakule, expressed gratitude to dfcu Bank and the Busoga Kingdom for the partnership.<br \/>\nHe echoed Kyabazinga\u2019s message on the importance of health, stating that without a healthy population, there can be no strong kingdom.<br \/>\nKitakule affirmed Rotary\u2019s commitment to working with partners to improve lives and change lifestyles in the region.<br \/>\nThe event concluded with the official declaration of dfcu Humanity Day and the opening of the Walukuba Health Camp, attended by Busoga Kingdom Ministers who included Owek. Babirye Yudaya Minister in the office of the Kyabazinga and also Executive Director Kyabazinga Initiatives, royal family members, Royal Chiefs led by Issabalangira (Chief Prince) Samuel Zirabamuzale Nkuutu, government officials, health professionals, and Rotarians.<br \/>\nThis collaboration underscores growing public-private and cultural-institutional partnerships in addressing Uganda\u2019s healthcare challenges while promoting broader socio-economic development in Busoga.
