Accused number two in Senzo Meyiwa murder trial , Bongani Ntanzi seen appearing in court.

Meyiwa trial hears Ntanzi deny being the author, source of statement

The second accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Bongani Ntanzi, has told the court that he is not the author, nor the source of the statement that was read during his bail application.
Ntanzi and his four co-accused are appearing before the Pretoria High Court in connection with the 2014 murder of the Bafana Captain.
According to Ntanzi, he was taken to an industrial park by Sergeant Vusimuzi Mogane and his team, where he was allegedly assaulted and forced to sign a statement that had already been prepared.
He made the claims while being cross-examined by Advocate George Baloyi for the state.
Baloyi: Sergeant Mogane and his team drove you to an industrial park near a dumping site where Brigadier Gininda and Sergeant Mogola joined them. Is that correct”?
Ntanzi: Yes
State: Your version is that Brigadier Gininda read through the statement, you were then assaulted by suffocation, using a plastic and forced to sign the statement.
Ntanzi: Yes, indeed, they forced me.
Meanwhile, the state says there is no evidence that police officers visited the family of Ntanzi in KwaZulu-Natal to question them about him after his arrest in June 2020.
Baloyi challenged Ntanzi’s claims, asking him to clarify the area where he was arrested.
“Your own evidence is that you were arrested at a room that you were renting on the 16th of June 2020 at Freedom Park. The point that we’re trying to make here is that you were not arrested at your workplace,” says Baloyi.
