Police Arrest 11 Nansana-Based Suspected Thieves, Exhibits Recovered

| NANSANA | KYAGGWE TV | The Police in Nansana Municipality in Wakiso district are holding eleven suspected thieves who were arrested on Tuesday.
During the operation Police reported that they arrested 11 suspects who include nine men and two women.
 The suspects have been identified as; Ssembatya Allan (28), plumber residing from Entebbe, Madondo Latif (27) who is a resident of Nabweru, Kawoya Anorld (21) of Bump-Ganda in Nansana division, Nkurunziza Rugamba (26) residing from Nansana East IIA, Kaziba Shakur (17), a resident of Nansana East IIA and Amanya Alili (24), a bodaboda rider registration number UDZ 039A, residing from Kyewamala.

Others are; Kabandana Leonard (39) of Nansana East IIA, Kakooza Rayan (19), a resident of Kayunga in Wakiso district, Akizimana Emmanuel of Nansana West IIA, Kabugo Evelyn (32) a shop keeper and resident of Nansana East IIA and Namukasa Shamira (31) of Nansana East IIA.
The operation is said to have been conducted on July 30, 2024, at around 0800hrs. An intelligence-led operation was conducted at Kibulooka in Nansana East IIA, Nansana East ward, Nansana municipality, Wakiso District.

Police through a statement issued on its X handle has confirmed that the operation was prompted by public concerns and previous attacks by panga-wielding individuals on civilians in Nabweru South II cell.
A search was conducted at the premises of Abed Fauzia, a 62-year-old farmer and resident of Namayumba, in the room of her daughter, Namukasa Shamira, a 31-year-old resident of Nansana East IIA.

The search yielded the following exhibits; 06 television sets of various sizes (63 inches, 53 inches, 43 inches, and three 32 inches, 02 pangas, 03 pairs of pliers, multiple screwdrivers, a sack of opium, hook metallic wire wrapped with kaveera, among other exhibits.
The victims of a recent robbery in Nabweru South II identified the recovered televisions, linking the suspects to the crime. The suspects will be arraigned before court when Police conclude their investigations.
