POLICE DOG LEADS TO ARREST IN KIRUHURA SHOP THEFT CASE

On 30 August 2024, Kiruhura police used a canine unit to investigate a break-in at a shop owned by Arimpa Aggrey, a veterinary doctor residing in Rwoburundo cell, Macuncu parish, Kinoni sub-county, Kiruhura District.The incident occurred at Rwoburundo trading center, where a box containing business documents and 400,000 Uganda shillings in cash was stolen by an unknown person.With the help canine, police traced the suspected stolen property to the house of Katwesigye Peter, where it sniffed his clothes and alerted the officers to his presence in the front room, where he operates a saloon.A search of the suspect’s bedroom revealed the money in the denominations mentioned by the complainant, corroborating the theft.
