A prayer service for the embattled Police Minister Senzo Mchunu is underway in Durban, on Saturday.
The service is held in support of Mchunu, who has been on special leave since July, last year. This follows allegations of interference in police activities and collusion with criminal elements.
The claims, made by the KZN police Commissioner Lt Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, resulted in the establishment of a judicial commission.
Scores of African national Congress (ANC) supporters dressed in party regalia, alongside members of various religious denominations, are in attendance.
