President Museveni Welcomes New Ambassadors, Strengthens Bilateral Relations for Economic Growth
President Yoweri Museveni received credentials from six newly accredited ambassadors and high commissioners to Uganda at State House, Entebbe on Tuesday.
The new envoys are H.E. Sasayama Takuya, the Japanese Ambassador; H.E. Mohammad Khalil E. Faroudah, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; H.E. Miroslaw Gojdz, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland; H.E. Jenny Da Rin, the Australian Ambassador; H.E. Mohammed Mutair, the Qatari Ambassador; and H.E. Ruzaimi Mohamad, the Malaysian Ambassador.
In discussions with the Japanese Ambassador, H.E. Sasayama Takuya, President Museveni expressed gratitude for Japan’s collaboration, particularly in infrastructure projects. “I thank the government of Japan for the bridge across the Nile and the road in the north,” he noted. Ambassador Sasayama pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation, focusing on attracting Japanese investments to Uganda.
Ambassador Mohammad Khalil E. Faroudah of Saudi Arabia conveyed greetings from the Saudi king and expressed his eagerness to strengthen ties. President Museveni invited Saudi Arabian companies to invest in Uganda, emphasizing the country’s business potential.
H.E. Miroslaw Gojdz, the Polish Ambassador, presented his credentials, with discussions centering on establishing strong working relations between Uganda and Poland.
Australian Ambassador H.E. Jenny Da Rin expressed interest in enhancing trade, investment, and tourism relations between Uganda and Australia. Both parties discussed opportunities to build a robust bilateral relationship.
Qatari Ambassador H.E. Mohammed Mutair highlighted the agricultural sector as a key area for cooperation. President Museveni encouraged Qatari companies to invest in value-added agriculture in Uganda.
Finally, President Museveni welcomed H.E. Ruzaimi Mohamad, the Malaysian High Commissioner. Their discussions focused on trade and investment opportunities, particularly in the palm oil sector, noting Malaysia’s status as the world’s second-largest palm oil producer.
These meetings underscore Uganda’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships to foster economic growth.
