South Africa have taken a giant leap towards securing their place in the the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sr Lanka.
The Proteas retain their unbeaten record by crushing the West Indies on Thursday, the only other unbeaten team in the tournament by nine wickets.
The Windies who were sent in, were reeling at 83 for seven in the 11th over, before recovering to post 176 for eight.
Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd shared in a world record 89-run eighth wicket partnership.
However, the Proteas made light work of the chase, hitting the wining runs with 23 balls to spare.

Captain Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock laid the foundation with a 95-run opening partnership.
Man-of-the-match Markram scored an unbeaten 82 from 46 balls.
