SA flags to be flown at half-mast following Lekota’s death


The Presidency says flags will be flown at half-mast from Saturday ahead of the funeral of former Congress of the People (COPE) leader Mosioua ‘Terror’ Lekota, scheduled for next Saturday in Bloemfontein.
He will receive a Special Official Funeral, Category two.
The funeral will include full state honours, ceremonial guards and an official procession.
Lekota passed away on Wednesday at a Johannesburg hospital.
He was the first premier of the Free State after South Africa’s democratic transition and served in the national government as a defence minister.
