SA reaffirms commitment to gender equality and women empowerment


South Africa has renewed its commitment to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls through strong multilateral cooperation.
It has concluded participation at the 70th session of the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women at New York in the US.
“During the CSW70 South Africa was appointed to serve in the CSW70 communications committee working group. A significant milestone that reinforces the country’s growing leadership and advancing gender equality. As interim chair of Southern Africa development committee South Africa presented a resolution on women, the girl child and HIV/AIDS of behalf of 16 member states for adoption,” says the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities spokesperson, Cassius Selala.
