Shaibu Mtita: Wakiso Giants Unveil Yanga Defender
Uganda Premier League (UPL) club, Wakiso Giants has officially confirmed youngster Shaibu Mtita from Young Africans as their fifth new signing.
The Purple Sharks have secured the services of the fast-rising defender on a season-long loan from the Tanzanian giants.
“Welcome to Wakiso Giants, Shaibu Mtita! This young defender has joined us on loan for one season from the champions of Tanzania,” Wakiso Giants confirmed on Saturday.
Mtita is Wakiso Giants’ fifth new signing to be unveiled so far, after Hudson Mbalire from Catda, Vincent Zziwa from BUL, Derrick Kaija from UPDF and Zambian international Eric Kabamba.
Ahead of the new season, the Purple Sharks have assembled a new set of coaches, with Steven Bengo leading the technical team and head coach, and Tonny Mawejje his assistant.
Last season, Wakiso Giants collected 32 points from 29 games to finish eleventh of 16 UPL teams, and secure another season in the top division.
