Shibiri back at Madlanga Commission

Suspended South African Police Service (SAPS) Organised Crime Head Richard Shibiri returns to the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday morning, where he will face cross-examination.
Shibiri has been linked to murder accused, Katiso “KT” Molefe and attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
Some detectives probing the murder of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart have accused him of trying to interfere with the investigation, where Molefe is one of the accused.
Last week, Shibiri testified that Matlala loaned him R 70 000 to fix his son’s vehicle and was paid back in two instalments.
The first was a R 20 000 payment, while the second was worth R 50 000.
He told the commission that his and Matlala’s relationship was cordial, as he sometimes gave him general life advice.
Shibiri is one of five top police officials who have been accused of having close links with members of the alleged criminal cartel.
