BUL FC secured their place in the final of the FUFA Super Eight after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kitara FC in the semifinal clash on Saturday at Lugogo.
The decisive moment came 10 minutes into the second half when Pascal Ngoobi netted the only goal of the game.
Lawrence Tezikya neatly found Ngoobi, who skillfully flicked a backheel to create a scoring chance.
Ngoobi showed composure as he looped the ball past Kitara’s goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima from a tight angle, sealing an impressive goal.
This victory followed BUL’s triumph over Maroons in the quarterfinals, where they advanced after two legs.
Abbey Bogere Kikomeko’s side now awaits the winner of the semifinal clash between Vipers SC and the FUFA Select team to determine their opponent in the final.
BUL, the defending champions, will be looking to retain the title they won last year after edging URA in a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Kitara FC will shift their focus to ranking games and prepare for their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup fixture, where they will host Al Ahly Benghazi from Libya this Friday.
Early in the day, NEC edged SC Villa in penalty shootouts, 4-3, after normal time ended 2-2, in a ranking fixture.
Unlike the previous round, the Semifinals are being played on a one-leg format.
