Equipment has always been a core component of Legend of Zelda series, and Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is no exception. Unlike most past games, however, you won’t be getting as many new unique items like bows and hookshots. Instead, you will use your Echoes to solve most problems, but there are a few other new ways to give Zelda an edge. Smoothies are great for temporary buffs, and the new clothing options can occasionally give you a small advantage, but it is the accessories that will make the biggest difference to your build.
These equipable items all have different benefits that range from somewhat useless or only needed in very specific instances, to the kind you will never want to remove. Even if you unlock all the extra slots, there’s no way you can equip them all, so make sure you grab these accessories as soon as you can to save Hyrule with ease.
Best accessories in Echoes of Wisdom
There are about 28 accessories in Echoes of Wisdom, although a handful of them are upgraded versions of existing ones that completely replace the original version. In those cases, we will list the best version but tell you how to get the original and upgrade(s) so you can get the best version as fast as possible.
Curious Charm
Nintendo
The Curious Charm is an evolved form of the Ancient Charm, which is the best form of damage reduction you can get in an accessory. Of course, you can’t get the best version without getting the first, which means you need to complete the Let’s Play a Game side quest in the Eastern Temple in Eastern Hyrule Field. This quest requires you to complete seven rooms of challenges and defeat a boss at the end. Once done, you can then do the Cotton-Candy Hunt side quest by going to Faron Wetlands and talking to a Deku Scrub near the smoothie stand. This quest will have you go into a nearby cave to do a mini-dungeon and fight a boss. Once you do, go back to the Scrub and he will turn your Ancient Charm into the Curious Charm.
Final Mastery
Nintendo
The Final Mastery is the last of three versions of this accessory that dramatically reduces your energy usage, which is critically important if you rely on Swordfighter Form. All three are earned in the same place and in the same way, too. Go to the Slumber Dojo in Kakariko Village and speak to the master to begin his training. You can do the first four right away and earn the First Mastery, but later training only unlocks as you move through the main story. The Second Mastery will require eight challenges, and the Final Mastery all 14.
Stone Anklet
Nintendo
A very easy accessory to get for a change, but also one you can miss, is the Stone Anklet. Wearing this will reduce how much knockback Zelda receives when hit so you don’t accidentally get knocked off a ledge. All you need is 400 spare Rupees and you can purchase it from the Hyrule Castle Town shop.
Frog Ring
Nintendo
Jumping is a surprisingly important mechanic in Echoes of Wisdom. The Still World in particular is packed with platforming challenges, and Zelda’s default jump is quite weak. The Frog Ring lets her jump much higher and farther, which you can also take advantage of in combat. Either way, this accessory is on the critical path within Hyrule Castle Dungeon. The small chest to the left of the big blue one with the Big Key holds this vital piece of gear.
Fairy Fragrance
Nintendo
Fairies have always been a literal life-saver in Zelda games. If you should ever take a bad hit during a fight after running out of healing items and lose your last heart, your fairy will spring into action and give you a second chance before getting a game over. That’s only if you happen to have a fairy, of course. Most of the time, you won’t find fairies randomly out in the world. If you have the Fairly Flower, or later Fairy Fragrance, then they can start to spawn when cutting normal grass and plants. For the Flower, you need to go into a cave on the west side of the Eldin Volcano that you need to climb up the cliff to reach. Once inside, the Fairy Flower is straight ahead in a chest.
The Fairy Fragrance takes a bit more work to get. This accessory requires you to complete the Looking for Bempu side quest in the Faron Wetlands. You will find a pair of Deku Scrubs in the same area as the one we met getting the Curious Charm. This quest sends you to four different locations using Bind to pull Bempu out of the ground. After you’ve done it four times, head back and claim your reward.

Ugandan Citizen Abducted, Held in Secret Detention for Three Months, Sparks Outrage and Calls for Justice
A disturbing new case of unlawful detention has surfaced, highlighting the ongoing human rights crisis in Uganda. A Ugandan citizen was reportedly abducted and held in a secret facility, known as a “safe house,” for three months, only to be released without charge or explanation. This incident, reported by NTV Uganda, has sparked widespread condemnation and renewed calls for accountability regarding human rights abuses in the country.
While the details surrounding the abduction remain unclear, reports indicate that the individual was taken without due process and held incommunicado—an action that has long been condemned by human rights organizations. The victim’s release, with no charges filed and no clear justification, has angered activists and citizens, who view this as yet another case of egregious abuse of power by the state.
“This is a recurring pattern,” said one human rights activist. “Abductions, secret detentions, and unexplained releases have become all too common in Uganda. These acts violate fundamental human rights and erode public trust in the justice system.”
The use of “safe houses,” unregistered detention facilities reportedly operated by security forces, has been a focal point in numerous allegations of torture and illegal imprisonment. Despite repeated calls from both local and international organizations for their closure and accountability for those involved, little action has been taken to address these violations.
This case underscores the urgent need for reform within Uganda’s security apparatus and greater accountability for human rights abuses. Observers hope that drawing attention to these injustices will spur concrete action to bring those responsible to justice and ensure the protection of basic human rights.
As frustration mounts, calls for both domestic and international pressure to hold the government accountable for such crimes grow louder. “One day, there must be accountability for all these crimes against our people,” stated one social media user, reflecting the sentiments of many Ugandans.

NUP Gathering Disrupted: Kyagulanyi Alleges Security Force Harassment and Arrests
National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi has accused Ugandan security forces of using excessive force to disrupt a planned NUP gathering. The allegations were detailed in a statement shared on Twitter, following an event held to honor children of NUP supporters who were killed, disappeared, or detained for their political beliefs.
According to Kyagulanyi, security personnel, under the command of an officer identified as Asiimwe, carried out a preemptive operation early in the morning upon learning of the NUP’s plans. The forces allegedly stormed the premises, arrested workers, and deployed tear gas to disperse those present.
“The criminals under the command of one Asiimwe deployed early morning, arrested our workers, and threw tear gas into our premises. They’ve cordoned off the premises and blocked all people from accessing the place,” Kyagulanyi wrote.
Among those reportedly arrested were Saava Peter, Mudenya Samson, and Turyasingura Samson. Kyagulanyi claimed the detained workers were subjected to beatings and interrogated about their political affiliations, with security operatives labeling them as terrorists.
“These JATT operatives asked the workers who they support politically, branding them terrorists and criminals—their only crime being that they work with us. You can imagine the indignity!” Kyagulanyi lamented.
This incident adds to the growing tension in Uganda’s political climate, where opposition parties frequently accuse the government of stifling dissent. Despite the challenges, Kyagulanyi ended his statement with a message of defiance and optimism, proclaiming, “UGANDA WILL BE FREE.”

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and CDF of the Ugandan army, posted two comments on the X platform on Tuesday in which he threatened “to capture Khartoum” with the support of the US President elect Donald Trump after he takes office. The posts were deleted later.
“The government of Sudan demands and official apology from the Ugandan government for the offensive and dangerous comments of the army commander,” Sudan’s foreign ministry said in a statement that the Sudan Tribune said it has seen.
