The wait is over : Mpuuga Declares intention to Contest as MP Again

MASAKA– A few weeks after Democratic Front (DF) President, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga has declared that he is not willing to contest for the Country’s top Political office (President of Uganda), this left many wondering on what could be his next move.

On Saturday, the Nyendo- Mukungwe Member of Parliament and former Leader of opposition in Parliament released posters indicating that he is back in the race come 2026.
Upon releasing this poster, Mpuuga’s team indicating that their candidate will be nominated on Wednesday 22nd October 2025 in Masaka to contest as Member of Parliament for Nyendo-Mukungwe on Democratic Front Party Card.
Mpuuga who has been in Parliament on NUP ticket, will be facing off with Lubowa Ssebina Gyaviira, the flag bearer for National Unity Platform and other Candidates.
