There’s no immediate risk of fuel shortages in SA: Govt – SABC News


The Mineral and Petroleum Resources Department says there is no immediate risk of fuel shortages in the country.The Department says it is in continuous contact with local oil companies to ensure the stability and security of fuel supply.According to a statement released on Tuesday night, the government says it is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and their potential impact.South Africa currently has two operational crude oil refineries, the National Petroleum Refiners of South Africa (Natref) and Astron Energy, in addition to the Sasol Secunda coal-to-liquid plant.
