Top Cops among 15 granted bail in explosive Medicare24 case


Fifteen accused, including high-ranking South African Police Service members linked to the Medicare24 tender case, were granted bail fixed at between R80 000 and R40 000 each at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The accused were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the three-year R360 million SAPS tender that was awarded to alleged cartel kingpin Vusumuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala.
They made their first appearance alongside Matlala, who was not granted bail, facing charges of corruption, fraud and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
